ALICT
Deur die African Leadership Institute for Community Transformation word toegewyde jong leiers toegerus om langtermyntransformasie in hul gemeenskappe te fasiliteer. Die afgelope drie jaar is 77 persone uit meer as 20 lande opgelei.
Die inhoud van die opleiding sluit in: Bybelse basis, Leierskap en persoonlike ontwikkeling, Gemeenskapstransformasie, Strategiese ontwerp en bestuur, Verhoudings en sinergie, en Gespesialiseerde opleiding (MIV, Werkskepping, Jeugontwikkeling). Opleiding geskied oor sowat drie maande in Stellenbosch vanaf einde Julie tot laat in Oktober.
’n Opwindende ontwikkeling is Vlak 1 ALICT Opleiding wat ook in ander lande aangebied kan word. ’n Proeflopie word DV gedurende Julie in Egipte beplan.

Deernis
By al hoe meer plekke waar GCG aangebied word (reeds meer as 100 lande) word ’n dag van diens bekend as Compassion Day by die program ingesluit. Jongmense en kinders het al oral oor die wêreld hieraan deelgeneem deur in klein of baie groot groepe dienswerk in hul gemeenskappe te doen, byvoorbeeld deur besoeke aan siekes en bejaardes, verfwerk by weeshuise en rommel optel. Die droom is dat alle kinders die lewensveranderende geleentheid sal kry om iets meer van deernis te leer terwyl hul deernis aan ander bewys.
Kinders in moeilike omstandighede
Daar word hard gewerk aan ’n program vir kinders in moelike omstandighede, soos dié wat die trauma van ’n natuurramp of oorlog beleef het. Deur ervaringsleer-aktiwiteite en groepwerk word lewensvaardighede oorgedra en groepleiers (meestal leke) in staat gestel om eerste-vlak intervensie te doen. Ons droom om die program in 2007 te beproef.
ALICT
The African Leadership Institute for Community Transformation trains and equips committed young leaders to facilitate long term transformation in their communities. 77 people from more than 20 countries have been trained during the past three years.
The training includes: Biblical foundation, Leadership and personal development, Community transformation, Strategic design and management, Relationships and synergy, and Specialised training (HIV/Aids, Job creation, Youth development). Training takes place over a period of three months from August to October.
An exciting new development is Level 1 ALICT Training which will take place in other countries, and we plan to do the first Level 1 training in Egypt in July.
Global Community Games
Compassion
At more and more places where GCG are presented (more than 100 countries) a day of service called Compassion Day is included in the programme. Young people and children from all over the world have already participated by serving their communities in small or large groups. They visit the sick and elderly, paint orphanages, or pick up litter. Our dream is that children everywhere will get the life changing opportunity to learn something about compassion while showing compassion to others.
Children in difficult circumstances
We are working on a programme for children in difficult circumstances such as living through the trauma of a natural disaster or war. Experiential learning activities and group work will teach life skills and give group leaders (mostly lay people) the opportunity to do first level intervention. We would like to try out the programme during 2007. |
