Code of Conduct
As members of the Uniting Christian Students' Association (UCSA), we are committed to upholding values that reflect our mission of serving communities with integrity, respect, and Christian principles. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected of all UCSA members, including affiliated campsites, schools, churches, associations, and individuals who represent or participate in UCSA-related activities and use our facilities. UCSA and its employees are also bound by the Unashamedly Ethical principles.​

1. General Principles
a. Respect and Inclusivity

Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and kindness, regardless of their background, beliefs, or affiliations.

Foster an environment of inclusivity and understanding in all interactions.

b. Integrity and Honesty

Act with integrity in all dealings and communications.

Be truthful and transparent in representing UCSA and its mission.

c. Accountability

Take responsibility for your actions and decisions.

Report any unethical behavior or breaches of this Code of Conduct to the appropriate UCSA representative.

2. Responsibilities of Campsites and Facility Operators
a. Safety and Well-being

Maintain facilities to ensure they are safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Ensure the well-being of all visitors, especially children and vulnerable individuals.

Provide clear emergency procedures and trained staff to handle incidents.

b. Professional Conduct
-
Operate facilities with professionalism and in alignment with Christian values.

Offer clear communication about services, rules, and expectations to all visitors.

c. Ethical Practices
-
Avoid any form of discrimination, exploitation, or harassment.

Respect the privacy of all visitors and safeguard their personal information.

3. Responsibilities of Affiliates and Representatives
a. Representation of UCSA

Represent UCSA in a manner that reflects its values and mission.

Ensure that any events or programs align with UCSA’s principles and goals.

b. Conduct at Events and Activities
-
Behave respectfully and responsibly at all times during UCSA events or while using UCSA facilities.

Avoid language or actions that could be deemed offensive, harmful, or divisive.

c. Protection of Children and Vulnerable Persons

Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines for the protection of children and vulnerable persons.

Report any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation immediately to the appropriate authorities.

4. Responsibilities of Participants
a. Respect for Rules and Guidelines

Follow all rules and guidelines provided by UCSA or its affiliates when attending events or using facilities.

Respect the property, resources, and environment of UCSA sites.
​
b. Collaboration and Teamwork
-
Engage constructively with others, fostering a spirit of cooperation and mutual support.

Participate actively and positively in programs and activities.

5. Use of Facilities and Resources

Ensure all facilities are used responsibly and for their intended purposes.

Avoid causing damage to property or disrupting the experience of other users.

Report any issues, damages, or hazards to the appropriate staff promptly.

6. Compliance with Laws and Policies

Adhere to all applicable local, national, and international laws.

Comply with UCSA policies, including those related to privacy, safety, and ethical behavior.

7. Breaches of the Code of Conduct

Breaches of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and may result in:

Warnings or mediation

Suspension of membership or access to facilities

Legal action in severe cases

Reports of breaches should be submitted in writing to the UCSA national office for investigation.

8. Commitment to Improvement

UCSA members are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions to improve facilities, services, and programs.

Regular training and development opportunities will be provided to ensure members and staff uphold the highest standards.
By adhering to this Code of Conduct, UCSA members and affiliates contribute to a community that embodies Christian values and serves as a beacon of faith, respect, and excellence.
