The History of the Extreme Life Educational Trust
The Extreme Life Educational Trust, founded in 2014 by Dr. Vic Brink, aims to inspire individuals to live extraordinary lives through dynamic educational experiences. Built on a foundation of Life Skills, Camping, Adventure-Based Learning (ABL), and Leadership, the Trust offers innovative programs that combine experiential learning with personal development. Focused on building resilience, leadership, and essential life skills, its transformative programs foster teamwork, environmental stewardship, and a passion for lifelong growth
The Purpose of the Extreme Life Programmes
Extreme Life is the programme component of UCSA. All our initiatives are built on the extreme life philosophy.
These include: Extreme Life Ministry, Extreme Life Camps, Extreme Life Outreaches, Extreme Life Online, Extreme Life Events, Extreme Life Journey Year, and Extreme Life Holiday programmes (and more).
Extreme Life encapsulates a spirit of living life to the fullest, without limits, presenting your best attempt in everything to live without regret and without boundaries - intentionally striving to fulfil your Godly endeavour, purpose and calling.
We use different vehicles to execute these objectives. The purpose of the Extreme Life programmes is to present individuals with opportunities to acquire the necessary skills for life. By focusing on critical life skills, the programmes equip participants with the tools they need to navigate personal and professional challenges. The programmes create opportunities for experiential learning in a supportive and engaging environment by applying adventurous experiential learning through school ministry activities, camping, team challenges, and outdoor leadership training. The programme cultivates leadership and resilience. The emphasis is on influence and the importance of leadership and personal strength, helping individuals (and communities) discover their potential to inspire and lead others while encouraging a connection with each other (the church).
Camping and outdoor activities serve as a platform to simulate and facilitate real-life experiences, to foster an awareness and a sense of responsibility. It inspires personal growth and community impact by empowering participants not only to grow as individuals but also to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Its focus on teamwork and collaboration ensures that participants leave with a heightened sense of social responsibility.
By combining practical upskilling with the excitement of outdoor adventures, Extreme Life Programmes continues to provide innovative learning opportunities and inspire participants to overcome their limits, discover their strengths, and lead lives of purpose and impact.
